AFRICA-CRAZY PLACE

Hi there to everyone,

it's been a long time since i wrote, i was pretty dissconected from the western world.

yes yes i have been purchasing rough diamonds in Africa.

well let me tell you Africa is a crazy place and scarry for most of business men's/womens specialy in the diamond business and gold.

yeah yeah i know your follow up question, why?

a lot of foriegn brokers think that diamond and gold buyers not willing to fly to africa, they are absolutly wrong! we fly all the time sometimes even 2 times in a month.

so why is your rough diamond buyer don't fly to africa by your recomendation in regards to a seller?

because you don't know local prices you dont know local laws and you dont know how to minimize the risks! should i continue on what you don't know? i think it's enough.

to get a buyer fly to africa for your seller you need to make asolid ground and establish good base from him to fly.

how you ask me?

fly first by your self ask the local people how to do it waist your own money first!

let me tell you a story,

 a broker came to me with a crazy offer with minimum risks crazy low prices and i was stupid enough and gready enough at that time to go along with that he even mentioned that he will cover all my expensses and when we come back safly home with the product i will reamburse him for that including his commission.

we took the next flight (business class because he wanted to make me feel he is going to make a lot of money from that transaction.)

once we arrived we had a tight schadule to meet the seller inspect the stones purchase them export and fly back home honestly it was crazy to think we can do that since back home i can not close a transaction that quick.

any way we where waiting for the first 3 days to seller which like you guess all ready didn't show up and the broker was very upset while i was relaxed and very calm.

eventualy at the 4th day the seller came with a few followers and started claiming that the person who holds the key to the safe is out of the town and supossed to be any minuet from now(african time means that we have a few long hours to wait) i oredered a beer for my self and he was shoked like i am commiting some sin.

after long hours which i spent traveling the city the key holder came and said that this is late and that we will meet first thing in the morning to view the stones.

in the morning the stories came along with the sunrise,

every hour different story.

the broker got the idea that no transaction going to happen with this guys went to change our flight ticket when i waited in the hotel and talked to some interesting local person which is a diamond exporter i got all the info that i needed and wanted.

the broker came back with our new flight tickets i introduced them and than we went to the airport for our flight.

today this broker work with a guy on a regular basis since he build confidence with the exporter and they both sell to me with me fly to africa. i found my self in a position that i was a broker to the broker who sell to me rough diamond :-)
